Hofbräuhaus on our first evening:  "All's well that ends well."

Couldn't find Susan's reserved table at the Trachtenfest there but did have a great evening meeting new friends Ruth with our new Swiss and Mainzer friends Joe with our new Swiss and Mainzer friends Ruth and Joe and our Mainz friends danced to a waltz in front of the band--Ruth's first dancing since back surgery

Ukrainian Orthodox Church:  We found some "Good Neighbors"

Our ride to church didn't show up; we started walking and stopped here in time for their worship service--glad we did.

The Ukrainian congregation welcomed us warmly to join in at the Advent bazaar in the fellowship hall after church.

Manger Scene "DE-tour":  Or, How'ya s'posed to know that?

Bürgersaalkirche, on the left, where we came to see the advertised manger scene -- we were locked out because we weren't there the two hours a day the church was open. The Little Munich Manger Scene Tour book promised access 12 hours every day 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. -- promised in fact yet another "DETOUR" unless there 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Heilig Geist Kirche -- we arrived in the morning at the advertised time to see the manger scene and could not, as the nave of the church was locked until 4:30 for cleaning. Heilig Geist Kirche -- we saw the nave through the locked gate. But not the manger scene beyond a specially marked closed-off door! Another manger scene "DE-TOUR"... Heilig Geist Kirche -- a camera can zoom to the inaccessible chancel beyond the locked iron gate. But we never got to see the manger scene, off limits behind a barred side door! Heilig Geist Kirche -- we viewed the church nave through the locked gate but not, as promoted, the manger scene!
